How I help

Support when you need it most.

Feeding your baby doesn't always go as planned, and you shouldn't have to figure it out alone. Whether you're struggling with latch, positioning, milk supply, pumping, or simply wondering if things are going the way they should, I'm here to help.

Together we'll look at what's happening, identify what may be getting in the way, and create a personalized plan that feels right for you and your baby.

In-home visits

Personalized support, in the comfort of your home.

You and your baby deserve to feel comfortable and supported. During an in-home visit, we'll work through a complete feeding together — from latch and positioning to pumping, milk transfer, and any concerns you may have.

Virtual consultations

Expert support, wherever you are.

Sometimes you just need a little guidance from the comfort of home. Virtual consultations are a convenient option for questions, follow-ups, feeding concerns, pumping support, or when getting out of the house isn't realistic.

We'll talk through what's happening, troubleshoot together, and create practical next steps for you and your baby.

Just have a question?

Not sure what kind of support you need?

You don't have to know exactly what you need before reaching out. Send me a message and tell me what's going on.

I'll help you determine whether a quick conversation, virtual consultation, or in-home visit would be most helpful — and if something needs to be addressed by your pediatrician or another healthcare provider, I'll guide you in the right direction.

Insurance

Your visits may be covered.

About

Why I do this work.

I grew up in a suburb just outside of Chicago, where my love for caring for others began. I went on to earn my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Loyola University Chicago, and soon after made the move to California to begin my nursing career. It was here that I found my passion for postpartum nursing and spent the past six years caring for mothers and their newborns during one of the biggest transitions of their lives. I later completed my lactation consultant studies through UC San Diego, allowing me to further specialize in an area of care I had become especially passionate about.

Becoming a mother is one of the biggest transitions in life, and that's exactly why I chose postpartum nursing. I wanted to be there for women during those first days of motherhood — the days filled with excitement, exhaustion, questions, and so many emotions. I wanted to help new moms feel cared for, heard, and confident as they found their way into this completely new chapter.

What has stayed with me most is what happens when the room gets quiet, the visitors leave, and a mother is handed her baby and expected to know what to do.

That's often when the questions, uncertainty, and pressure really begin. Time and time again, I noticed that lactation was one of the biggest struggles and sources of pressure for new moms. There is so much expectation surrounding how a baby should feed and how breastfeeding should come naturally, when in reality it's a skill that both mom and baby are learning together.

My passion for supporting mothers also comes from my own family. As an aunt to eight nieces and nephews, I've had a front-row seat to watching my family navigate pregnancy, birth, newborn life, and all of the beautiful — and challenging — moments that come with it.

Becoming a lactation consultant felt like a natural extension of the work I've loved doing for the past six years. I wanted to continue supporting families beyond the hospital and be there for the moments when they're home, the visitors have gone, and they're wondering, "Am I doing this right?"

My approach is personal, judgment-free, and centered around you and your baby. Whether you're breastfeeding, pumping, supplementing, combination feeding, or still figuring out what feels right, you deserve support without pressure or judgment.

You don't have to have it all figured out. I'm here to help you feel confident, supported, and a little less alone in the process.

What to expect

A visit that feels supportive from start to finish.

Let's chat first

Send me a message and tell me a little about your baby, what's been going on, and what you're hoping for. We'll talk through what you need and decide together what type of support would be most helpful. There's no charge for this initial conversation.

We'll find a time that works for you

Babies don't always follow a schedule — and that's okay. We'll choose a time that works around your baby's usual feeding window so we can see a feeding when your baby is ready to eat.

We'll work through it together

Once we're together, we'll talk about your birth, your feeding experience so far, and any questions or concerns you have. I'll watch a full feeding and we'll work through things together — whether that's latch, positioning, pumping, milk supply, or something else.

Your partner, mom, or anyone who supports you at home is always welcome to be part of the visit.

You'll leave with a plan that feels doable

You won't leave wondering, "Okay… now what?" Together we'll create a personalized plan with practical things you can try at home. My goal is for you to feel confident about what to do next — not overwhelmed by another list of things you "should" be doing.

And if something is outside of my scope and needs your pediatrician or another healthcare provider, I'll let you know.

You're not on your own afterward

Support doesn't have to end when our visit does. I'll check in with you afterward to see how things are going and whether anything needs adjusting.

Feeding can change quickly, especially during those early weeks. We'll take it one step at a time, together.

Reviews

In their words.

Maryrose is not only great at what she does, but how she does it.

I was lucky enough to get connected with Maryrose when I was only 4 days postpartum with my first baby, in a state of despair late on a Friday evening. I was not prepared on how to adequately manage breast milk coming in and the accompanying engorgement. She graciously responded to my text at 10PM, offered up some useful tips to get me through the night ahead of our FaceTime consultation at 9AM the next morning.

She spent an hour with me on the phone, learning about me and my birth and postpartum journey before offering advice and solutions completely tailored to me. Though I was in a vulnerable and hopeless state, she approached me with such warmth, kindness, and empathy. With her guidance, I was able to leave with a manageable plan of action and even felt relief later that day.

She was BEYOND helpful and I'm so grateful to have found her as she truly was a lifesaver to me during this rollercoaster of a time. Within 24 hours, I was feeling back to myself thanks to her knowledge and care. I can't recommend her enough!

As a first time mom, I was a little anxious to ask for help during my breastfeeding journey. I started out exclusively pumping since my daughter had a difficult time latching. After several weeks, I noticed that my daughter started having a shallow latch and began refusing bottles. I reached out to the Lactation Network and got paired with Maryrose.

It was such a pleasure working with Maryrose. She is compassionate, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. I appreciated her discovery approach which helped me understand how to prepare for going back to work, a recommended pumping schedule to build my milk storage, and different approaches to help my daughter take a bottle again.

There are so many things to worry about as a first time mom, and I am so grateful for all of the support Maryrose provided to make my breastfeeding journey more enjoyable.

I was matched with Maryrose through The Lactation Network! The process was so simple and convenient. She was able to see me the same week I applied.

I have been very blessed with my breastfeeding journey but knew I needed to start pumping. Pumping gave me so much anxiety and I kept putting it off. I needed professional help to start pumping. I was so nervous, but the second Maryrose walked in, I knew she was going to help me reach my goal!

She showed me how to operate my pump, discussed my pumping goals so she could set up a schedule, and we did a pumping and bottle session. She was able to teach my husband how to give a bottle, which eased both of our minds. I am so grateful!! Thank you Maryrose!

I just wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for your time and support today. It was so refreshing to feel like someone genuinely cared and wanted to help.

I truly appreciate your undivided attention and the guidance you provided on how to best support both my son and myself. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!

I have been meaning to send this message for weeks! I just officially weaned a few weeks ago. I was reflecting back on my whole breastfeeding experience, especially the early days, and wanted to thank you again for making it all possible.

Truly, I don't know how long I would've kept trying to breastfeed without your help, and being able to nurse for so long was such a gift. I am so thankful for you, and you are such a light to everyone you work with!!
